WELCOME TO THE NEW JERSEY NEEDLEARTISTS (NJNA) WEBSITE!
NJNA is the local chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild (ANG), located in Northern New Jersey. We are an active chapter, meeting monthly to share our love of needlepoint. Our chapter includes stitchers at all levels.
NJNA meets the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Bernards Township Library in Basking Ridge. Prior to the meeting, starting at 6:00 p.m., members gather for open stitching. During the official meeting, we generally have a scheduled program – needlework project, lecture, or demonstration – as well as Show-and-Tell, an opportunity for our members to display and talk about their stitched pieces. Our current year programs are listed in the sidebar and past programs are in Chapter Programs. For more details about our monthly meetings, check out our Meeting Summaries.
We also hold two “social” meetings each year. The July meeting is our salad supper and the December meeting is our holiday appetizer/dessert party.
This year we are undertaking two Outreach Programs. We will be completing Alice Peterson’s Children’s Classic Books canvas, which will be presented to the Bernards Township Library for the Children’s Library. We are also participating in the Hearts for Hospice project run by the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild.
Our Workshop Chair has been very active in scheduling project workshops and stitch-in dates at local needlework shops to provide opportunities for our members to socialize while catching up on their stitching. We also have a group that meets monthly to stitch on a “Stitch-of-the-Month” project – a single project that the entire group enjoys. This year’s project is from ANG, Kathy Rees’ 8-Pointed Star.
We hope that you will decide to become an NJNA member and add your talents to our group. NJNA Annual Dues are $30 and you must be a member of the ANG national organization. Click here for the NJNA Membership Form.
We invite you to visit one of our meetings to experience what we have to offer. Beginning stitchers are always welcome; you will find so many fellow stitchers willing to assist you on your needlepoint journey.
Please Contact NJNA if you have any questions or need additional information.
